Haimen’s Dieshiqiao launches international logistics line
A very important container truck loaded with Dieshiqiao home textile products left Haimen Industrial Park on Aug 30 -- marking the launch of the first international direct logistics line co-developed by China Dieshiqiao International Home Textiles and Tongyida, according to the local media.
The products will be delivered to Amazon warehouses abroad. The purchase order was made by several customers, with a value of 2 million yuan ($278,600).
Officials said it will reach its destination in 11 days and the products information will then be put online and delivered to global customers by Amazon.
Founded in 2017, Tongyida Cross-border Logistics Nantong Branch is a cross-border e-commerce operator based in Haimen Industrial Park. The park is located in Haimen, Nantong, in eastern Jiangsu province. The e-commerce operator’s main customers include global tech giant Amazon.
China Dieshiqiao International Home Textiles, located in Haimen, is one of the largest home textiles markets in China.
It is also serves as a pilot area for reform of the national market procurements trade. It offers for sale more than 200 ranges of goods, more than 560 brands and more than 1,000 kinds of home textiles products.
The products are exported to more than 130 countries and regions globally. Its domestic market share is estimated at over 40 percent.
Officials said its online and offline trading volumes in the home textiles market currently tops 110 billion yuan annually and the total export value of the market procurement trade tops $6 billion annually.
In 2015, China Dieshiqiao International Home Textiles was identified by the State Council as a pilot for the reform of the market procurement trade, vigorously promoting the integration of domestic and foreign trade, developing cross-border e-commerce and promoting foreign trade facilitation.
"The combination of new foreign trade business and traditional trade will further expand the Dieshiqiao’s pilot project for market procurement trade," said Gu Peihua, director of the Haimen Industrial Park Administrative Service Center.
Haimen Industrial Park has been enhancing its business environment. It has built a comprehensive service platform for market procurement and trade and established a Dieshiqiao cross-border e-commerce industrial center.
So far, some 20 cross-border e-commerce companies have settled in the center.
Officials said that, in addition, preferential policies have been introduced to boost the development of the e-commerce companies.
