Hai’an renovates local historical cultural scenic spot
A group of local officials led by Yu Lizhong, mayor of Hai'an, inspected renovations on the Jianghuai Area Cultural Park in Hai'an, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, on Aug 30.
Jianghuai Area Cultural Park is a national 4A-level scenic spot covering an area of more than 260 mu (17.3 hectares). It consists of Chinese classical garden landscapes surrounded by 30,000 square meters of lake.
At the site of the renovation and upgrading project of Jianghuai Area Cultural Park, Yu Lizhong pointed out that the overall urban environment of Nantong should be improved in preparation for the Forest Tourism Festival, which will be held in the city in October.
He emphasized that the park should focus on protecting the park's environment and historical relics, that renovations should be sped up, and that public announcements should be more accurate.
He added that cooperation with the city's education authorities could help the park better handle and preserve its culture.
