The Linjiang New District of Haimen, Nantong, in eastern Jiangsu province, has recorded significant progress in innovation and entrepreneurship with its two R&D teams and eight overseas returnee innovation projects winning provincial recognition, according to the local media.

In addition, Haimen Hi-park, is located on No 100 Dongting Lake Road, has been selected as one of the provincial-level innovation and entrepreneurship bases -- according to a list released recently compiled of the third batch of provincial-level innovation and entrepreneurship demonstration bases for Jiangsu province.

Haimen Hi-park covers an area of five square kilometers. It boasts scientific research headquarters, business offices, scientific research training facilities, science and education expos, exhibition services and science and technology forums.

After 10 years of development, it has successfully created three specialized areas, or marker spaces – the Biomedical Science and Technology Park, International Small and Medium Enterprises Park and Linglong Street Cultural and Creative Park.

Officials said it has successfully attracted nearly 200 enterprises in related areas -- including the biomedicines, electronic information and sciences and education sectors -- to come and settle in the park.
