The 4th Haimen Entrepreneurship Competition has added four more city divisions to its ranks -- Hangzhou, Shanghai, Wuhan and Shenzhen-- according to a July 8 report in the Haimen Daily.

Prospective contestants can submit their applications through an online application form, organizers said.

The contact email address for Hangzhou and Shanghai is contact@o-tec.cn, and the email address for Wuhan and Shenzhen is wuzhonghui@doctortech.com.cn.

The registration deadline for Hangzhou division is July 15, that for Shanghai is July 25, for Wuhan it is July 26, and for Shenzhen the deadline is Aug 2.

The organizing committee will organize the project qualification review, invite the judges to conduct technical reviews, and select some 15 projects in each city to enter the city qualification trials and participate in roadshows.

About 10 projects in each city qualification trials will enter the next stage of the competition.

The finals will be held in Haimen city, Nantong, in eastern Jiangsu province, in early September.

There will be one first prize winner, two second prize winners, three third prize winners, and four winners of outstanding awards. They will be given respective cash prizes of 80,000 yuan ($11,600), 50,000 yuan, 30,000 yuan and 10,000 yuan.

In addition, winners who settle in Haimen city within one year will also receive financial support and enjoy preferential policies.

The competition focuses on outstanding entrepreneurial teams and high-tech projects in the fields of biomedicines, high-end medical equipment, intelligent equipment, intelligent buildings, new materials and modern home textiles.

It aims to bring together innovative and entrepreneurial resources from home and abroad, in an event organizers said would boost the industrial transformation and upgrading of Haimen city.

Since 2016, Haimen city has held the entrepreneurship competition for three consecutive years, attracting the participation of nearly 1,000 participants from China and abroad. Of these, some 17 outstanding projects have settled in Haimen.
