Foxconn opens institute of intelligent manufacturing
Tech giant Foxconn has established its Nantong institute of intelligent manufacturing in Tongzhou Technical Secondary School.
The launch ceremony for the institute was held on June 12 in TTSS in Tongzhou district, in Nantong.
Foxconn, the world's biggest contract electronics manufacturer, began to cooperate with TTSS as early as 1995.
In 2008, Foxconn established its vocational education center in Togzhou, and the company donated to a robot to TTSS worth 7 million yuan ($1.01 million) last year while preparing to establish the Nantong institute of intelligent manufacturing.
By the end of last year, TTSS had trained more than 1,800 professionals now working at Foxconn’s 23 manufacturing facilities in the Chinese mainland.
Company officials said the Foxconn institute of intelligent manufacturing will deepen the integration of industry and education, and train professionals who are urgently needed by firms.
TTSS has provided strong support for the development of the Foxconn team, said Zhu Hongjun, a manager of Foxconn technology group. Those people with professional skills trained by TTSS boast a solid professional foundation and hardworking spirit, he said.
