A group of experts and scholars from Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJU) visited Tongzhou district and held talks with the district on cooperation of people with professional skills.

The group was led by Li Chengfu, the institute of technology and education development from XJU.

Shen Xudong, member of the district standing committee, introduced the district’s development achievements on the innovation of science and technology.

The district has made great efforts on the innovation-driven transformation. The number of new-high tech enterprise reached 199, the highest of all districts in Nantong.

The district has introduced 676 talents who plan to start their businesses here. “The cooperation with XJU is not only a key step for the reform and opening-up of the district, but also a long-term policy for the transformation and upgrading,” Shen said.

XJU is a well-known institution of higher learning and boasts strong research and development capability as well as excellent talents.

Shen expressed his hopes that Tongzhou district could deepen exchange and cooperation with XJU on projects of scientific and technological achievements transformation.

“We will try hard to build Tongzhou district into XJU’s industry-university-research collaborative innovation base,” he added.

“XJU will think actively on how to build a cooperation platform with enterprises and help enterprises to make breakthroughs on key technologies,” said Li Chengfu.
