Roses raise incomes for farmers
A worker organizes some freshly-picked roses for loading and shipping at a plantation in Chengdong town, Hai'an, Nantong, a city in East China's Jiangsu province, on May 5. The Hai'an local government has been encouraging farmers to transform the planting industry and develop sightseeing agriculture with rose planting at its core. After being picked, fresh rose petals are sent to factories all over the country for further processing, such as refinement for essential oil, which helps increase the incomes of local farmers.
