Hai’an manufacturing grows in Q1
According to statistics released by local authorities on April 23, manufacturing in Hai'an achieved 46.34 billion yuan ($6.44 billion) in taxable sales, an increase of 22 percent. Its sales and growth rate ranked first in Nantong, a city in East China's Jiangsu province.
Manufacturing is one of Hai'an's pillar industries, generating 171.8 billion yuan in taxable sales last year, an increase of 27.4 percent, ranking first in Nantong.
In recent years, Hai'an has used enterprises, universities, and research institutes to develop its manufacturing industry, introduced achievement transformation projects, encouraged manufacturing enterprises to increase investment in new equipment, promoted the upgrading and replacement of products, and seized upon the market. The city has developed customized and tailored products to expand its market.
This year, Hai'an will continue relying on manufacturing to achieve its goal of 200 billion yuan in taxable sales.
