Our Gangzha, a documentary series about Gangzha district's history and culture, started filming in the Nantong city's district on April 18, to faithfully trace its past.

The documentary series will be divided into three episodes on the historical origins, biographical stories, and intangible cultural heritage of the district.

"As distinct from the official government promotion films in the past, this documentary will focus on the local ordinary people and their lives," said director Liang Gang, who has been making documentaries for over three decades.

"It will fill in the gaps of the public's understanding about the culture of their hometown and I feel honored to join in the production of this documentary," Liang added.

Zou Xinhua, executive vice-chairman of Nantong Folk Artists Association, is the playwright.

The documentary series is expected to be finished later in 2019.
