Rudong county in Nantong, eastern Jiangsu province, signed a key agreement with Shanghai-based medical company Heal Force on March 20 involving a new medical appliances base, that officials said was expected to inject new vitality into the county's medical development.

With a total investment of 2.01 billion yuan ($300 million), the facilities will be constructed in two phases. The first phase will focus on production lines for the medical appliances, while the other phase will involve construction of a headquarters, research centers and marketing centers.

When operating, the annual sales revenue of the first phase is expected to reach 500 million yuan.

Shen Junfeng, Party secretary of Rudong county, expressed his hopes that the company will cooperate with local government in an all-round way to promote the development of associated commerce. 

He urged the county's departments to improve the business environment for the private companies and offer quality services for them.

Shen Qinhua, chairman of Heal Force, said that Rudong county had a promising future in the medical development sector, stressing his confidence for investment in the region.

He noted that his company will expand its efforts in integrating medical resources, to help Rudong promote the development of medical appliances industry.
