Hai’an promotes STEM education
A pupil assembles a robot under the instructions of her teacher at an experimental primary school in Hai'an's development zone in Nantong, a city in East China's Jiangsu province, on March 7. As one of the first bunch of trial centers to operate under China's 2029 STEM education plan, the school focuses on developing the innovative thinking of its students. STEM, which is receiving increasing attention from around the world, is an acronym for an education system that emphasizes science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Its aim is to promote the integration of multiple curriculums, and place greater emphasis on the creativity and problem-solving skills of school children. [Photo/VCG]
