Haimen scoops national recognition for innovation
Haimen, a county-level city under the administration of Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, was honored as one of the top 100 counties recognized for innovation, according to a list recently released by sdaily.com and the National Science and Technology Revitalization Urban Economic Research Association.
The list was compiled based on the Science and Technology Innovation Index research which seeks to systematically evaluate a candidate’s environment for innovation, innovation services, innovation financing, innovation subjects, and innovation effectiveness.
The evaluation index system for science and technology innovation in small and medium-sized cities includes four indicators: innovation and entrepreneurship platform construction, research and development potential, scientific and technological innovation vitality, and scientific and technological innovation achievements.
A total of five counties in Nantong province made it on the national list -- Haimen, Hai’an, Rugao, Qidong and Rudong.
