A ceremony marking the launch of 29 projects was held in Nantong Economic and Technological Development Zone on March 1.

With a total investment of nearly 20 billion yuan ($2.98 billion), the projects cover a number of industries, including energy, logistics, textiles and equipment manufacturing.

An energy storage base of Shanghai Electric Group, costing 5 billion yuan, is expected to be the most advanced and largest lithium battery energy storage base in the Nantong-Shanghai region upon completion.

A comprehensive bonded logistics park, also a result of cooperation between Nantong and Shanghai, will serve as a new platform for integrating resources.

In addition, the zone also launched several new infrastructure projects, including the renovation of several roads and an expansion of a school campus, with the aim of improving living standards and education in the area.
