Festivities herald Lantern Festival in Haimen
Performers stage a lion dance during a ceremony held to mark Lantern Festival at Changle town in Haimen, Nantong, East China’s Jiangsu province, Feb 17. The festival is one of China’s main traditional festivals, falling on the 15th day of the first lunar month. It marks the first full moon of a new year, which many believe symbolizes unity and perfection. The festival also marks the official end of the Spring Festival holiday period.
