Nantong’s Tongzhou district has strengthened support for people with special difficulties through improving the structure of government expenditures.

The finance department of Tongzhou district has allocated 10 million yuan ($1.48 million) to improve intelligent nursing services for the elderly.

The district will build a “one-stop service” network platform for the elderly in 2019. Many kinds of services will be provided for senior citizens above the age of 85, including first aid service, assistance to their daily lives and a special community service.

The government will provide the elderly with subsidies ranging from 20 yuan to 100 yuan every month.

Moreover, the government will also provide another 4 million yuan to the elderly who are disabled. The elderly requiring long-term care can get a certain amount of money on a regular basis.
