As winter approaches, many migrant birds have begun nesting at Golden Beach in Qidong, a county-level city in Nantong, Jiangsu province, whose sparkling lake, rotating windmills, and many wetland reeds form a picturesque landscape.

One such migrant bird is the black swan, known for its red beak dotted with white stripes and feathers that glimmer in the sunlight. It is not afraid of people, and will gladly accept food from visitors.

Golden Beach is home to many wild animals and plants and has an area of more than 2,700 mu (180 hectares). Its ecosystem has improved in recent years, as more protective measures are being adopted.

This has led to a growing number of migrant birds stopovering there, keeping the scenic spot vibrant and popular throughout the winter.
