The project was funded and constructed by Nantong Yangkou Port City Development Co Ltd. The land area of the project is about 2.17 hectares, and the construction area is about 16,742 square meters, with a three-story main building. Total investment in the project was about 45 million yuan ($6.85 million).

The central market takes "economical, beautiful and practical" as its design concept, to provide a modern agricultural seafood trading market at Yangkou Port. The project has been put into use.
