The Nantong Economic & Technological Development Area, or NETDA – located in Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province – recently established a new services platform, with the launch of a smart manufacturing innovation service center and an intelligent equipment maintenance service center.
The platform is designed to provide local businesses with more effective services, according to local media reports on Oct 9.
It is expected to bring in experts from local government and associations to provide professional services for 28 local intelligent manufacturing enterprises – bucking the trend towards intelligent manufacturing technology, talent recruitment and attracting institutes coming from well-known colleges and universities.
The platform will reportedly have three main functions – to release and promote the brands of local small and medium-sized enterprises, provide practical training for them and attract government investment.
The platform launched "supermarket-style" services to fully participate in the acquisition of cutting-edge technology – in such areas as industrial robots and 5G applications – and provide local enterprises with intelligent equipment maintenance, installations and debugging.
The NETDA's "Internet + advanced manufacturing" blueprint is said to promote the upgrading of traditional manufacturing equipment and to accelerate the development of the intelligent manufacturing sectors.
