Japanese high-end diaper manufacturer Daio Paper invested in and established a daily necessities company in the Nantong Economic & Technological Development Area (NETDA) in December 2012. It is mainly engaged in the production and sale of high-end baby diapers and tissue.

The first phase of a factory currently under construction, which cost 1.6 billion yuan ($248 million) to build, earned 200 million yuan in annual revenue in 2013.

At the same time, Daio Paper has accelerated the pace of development of its multi-category composite business, expanding into areas like toilet and kitchen paper. In 2018, a new toilet and kitchen paper production line with an annual output of 10,000 tons was installed. Construction of the second plant started in 2019 and it was put into use in 2020, achieving an annual output of 3,600 tons from its paper production line.

To date, in the domestic high-end diaper market, the market share of Daio Paper's products has exceeded 20 percent, and the market share of China's physical mother and baby stores has exceeded one-third.
