NETDA receives triumph in IP invention patent

Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA) in Nantong, Jiangsu province, has passed the provincial Intellectual Property (IP) Demonstration Zone standard for the past three years.

In that period, NETDA has granted 5,085 patents, including 733 invention patents, and received 254 PCT patent applications. The number of invention patents per 10,000 people was 66.45 (ranking first in the city). It has been awarded 10 national patent awards and six provincial patent awards, striving for more than 10 projects above provincial level, with more than 8 million yuan ($1.21 million) in awards and subsidy funds, and maintaining the first square in the city in terms of the main indicators of high-quality development of IP rights.

So far, the region has cultivated 15 national demonstration IP enterprises, such as Zhongtian Optical Fiber Co Ltd and Lude Medical Co Ltd. Sales of high-tech enterprises' patented products, and the contribution of IP to the development of enterprises is increasing year by year.
