The Panama-flagged vessel NEW STRIVER has set sail for Port of Vrangel and Port of Vladivostok in Russia after completing the loading and unloading of 599 twenty-foot equivalent units at Lyusi Port's container terminal, marking that the port in Qidong, Nantong, has opened its first shipping route to the Russian Far East.

The new route establishes a direct maritime corridor from Nantong and its surrounding areas to the Russian Far East market, facilitating growth in import and export trade.

On the one hand, a variety of high-quality raw materials from Russia can now be delivered directly to Lyusi Port, satisfying the production materials demand of the manufacturing sector in the port's hinterland.

On the other hand, the route simplifies the logistics process by eliminating the cumbersome previous processes of land transport and waterway transshipment. Now, containers can be loaded and dispatched right at the source in the hinterland.

With the route, Qidong's overall cross-border logistics costs for businesses have been reduced, while the convenience, efficiency, and market competitiveness of regional foreign trade shipments have been improved.
