Nantong anticipates stronger ties with US

Wu Xinming, Party secretary of Nantong, Jiangsu province, met with Heidi Petz, chair, president and CEO of the United States-based Sherwin-Williams, and Craig Allen, senior counselor at the Cohen Group from the US, on June 25 in the city.

Wu expressed his gratitude to both organizations for their ongoing support of Nantong's economic and social development. He said that Nantong is integrating into the Shanghai metropolitan area, positioning itself as an ideal investment destination.

Wu said that Sherwin-Williams and the Cohen Group have enjoyed a long-standing, trust-based relationship with Nantong. He emphasized the city's anticipation of further deepening this partnership and facilitating the establishment of more high-quality projects. Wu assured that Nantong will continue to foster a first-class business environment that is market-oriented, law-based, and aligns with international standards, providing robust support for companies operating in the region.

Heidi praised Nantong for its strategic location and vibrant energy. As one of the world's oldest coatings companies, Sherwin-Williams is committed to a long-term strategy to expand its presence in Nantong. The company plans to introduce new technologies and products, particularly in green, high-performance coatings, and intends to increase its investment in research and development to enhance Nantong's new quality productive forces.

Craig highlighted Nantong as a key partner for the Cohen Group. He expressed a strong willingness to deepen practical cooperation, and harness the group's strengths to significantly enhance economic and trade exchanges between the US and China.
