Nantong marks International Museum Day with various activities

Nantong in Jiangsu province will celebrate the 50th International Museum Day at the Rugao Museum in Rugao, a county-level city of Nantong, on May 16.
This celebration is designed to highlight the latest achievements in the city's museum development over the past year, while also promoting the sustainable and healthy growth of Nantong's cultural and museum sector.
The event will include an opening ceremony, 10 main activities such as performances and a Tongyang Canal-themed exhibition, along with a series of other cultural activities throughout the city.
The Tongyang Canal exhibition delves into the thousand-year history of the canal, illustrating the evolution of shipping and cultural integration from Yangzhou to Nantong. It underscores Rugao's role as a key base for the salt industry in the area south of the Huaihe River, highlighting the city's development driven by both salt and river.
