Hengfulong Food in Qidong is stepping up its corn-planting activities this spring, advancing a full-chain agricultural business that integrates cultivation, procurement, processing and sales while also helping boost farmers' incomes.

The company currently manages a crop planting area in excess of 10,000 mu (about 667 hectares) and has built a glowing reputation in green agriculture. Over the past three years, it has obtained three separate "Green Food" certifications, while driving shared prosperity for more than 5,000 surrounding farming households.

Last August the company's quick-frozen corn cobs received "Green Food" certification, with a strong market performance seen for its 500 mu of fresh edible corn, which sold at prices around 10 percent above the market average in the Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai region.

The company’s green product portfolio has expanded steadily in recent years. In 2023, its processed green soybeans became its first product to meet the national "Green Food" standard. Large broad beans followed in 2024, further strengthening its position in the premium agricultural products market.

The company's green food orders have also extended beyond its own planting base to more than 30 major growers in other towns. One of its long-term partners is the Wang Weizhong Family Farm in Yinyang town.

"Throughout the cultivation process, soil testing and formula fertilization, as well as green pest and disease control, are all tracked and spot-checked by a third-party inspection agency commissioned by Hengfulong," said farm owner Wang Weizhong.

"This has played a very positive role in the management and development of our family farm."
