"This year's national two sessions represent a crucial moment for strategic planning and pragmatic progress," said Liu Hong, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference from Nantong, Jiangsu province.

As China enters an aging society with a growing elderly population, Liu recognizes that traditional models of elderly care are inadequate to meet the new expectations for a higher quality of life.

He observes that the current silver economy faces challenges such as structural imbalances, insufficient quality supply, and an underdeveloped consumption environment. Liu advocates for utilizing digital intelligence and biogenetic technologies to invigorate the silver economy, emphasizing the importance of developing age-friendly emerging industries like biomedicine, anti-aging, and cosmetic medicine.

"Artificial intelligence holds tremendous potential in elderly care scenarios," Liu said. He calls for the enhanced development of high-tech, age-friendly products, the expansion of applications such as AI companionship and intelligent interaction, and the creation of a new "technology plus elderly care" model to achieve a win-win situation for public welfare and economic growth.

Liu hopes that by addressing the new challenges in elderly care, the lives of hundreds of millions of elderly individuals will improve, and the silver economy will deliver economic dividends and public welfare, fostering a synergistic enhancement of both livelihoods and economic growth.
