The immersive live performance project, "Night Painting over Haohe River", located in Nantong, Jiangsu province, attracted 7,500 visitors from Feb 17 to 23, quickly becoming a popular attraction.
As night descends, the lights along the Haohe River illuminate brilliantly, with the shimmering water reflecting the vibrant colors, beautifully outlining the breathtaking contours of the ancient Haohe River.
The Haohe River, serving as Nantong's historical moat, is gourd-shaped and resembles a string of pearls, earning it the nickname "Emerald Necklace" of Nantong. This live performance is a centerpiece of the Haohe River Scenic Area's revitalization.
Along the boat route, 20 scenic spots have been developed across four key areas: Haoxi Academy and Nantong Bonsai Garden, Zhonggong Park and Nangong Park, Nantong Museum and Nantong Eminent Figures Museum, as well as Haodong Green Space and City God Temple. The project employs advanced sound, light, and electrical technologies, combined with live performances, to vividly highlight Nantong's rich industrial heritage, cultural richness, and urban aspirations.
Since its official launch on Jan 1, the project has garnered widespread acclaim from locals and tourists alike. During the Spring Festival holiday, to enhance the visitor experience, the scenic area thoughtfully provided warming ginger tea at the boat docks and constructed wind and rain-proof tent corridors.
