Nantong set to boost embodied intelligence development

The sixth CCF China Intelligent Robot Academic Annual Conference and the Nantong Intelligent Industry Ecosystem Partner Meeting commenced in Nantong, Jiangsu province, on Sept 21.
The conference brought together leading experts and industrial forces in intelligent robotics in China to jointly explore the latest advancements and trends in the field.
In her opening remarks, Zhang Tong, mayor of Nantong, said that the city is actively working on the "Artificial Intelligence plus" initiative. She highlighted the city's focus on its core industries, including shipbuilding, marine engineering, high-end equipment, home textiles, construction, education, and elder care. Nantong is also promoting the development of niche intelligent robotics and speeding up the integration of embodied intelligence into industrial manufacturing, logistics, specialized operations, and social activities.
She expressed her hope that academicians, experts, and entrepreneurs would leverage their broad perspectives, abundant resources, and extensive networks to bring more innovative resources and partners to Nantong. The city is dedicated to creating a first-class innovation and business environment, fully supporting the development of the embodied intelligence industry in Nantong.
Intelligent robotics is not only a clear example of AI, but also a crucial force driving the transformation and modernization of the manufacturing industry and shaping future industrial trends, according to Hou Zengguang, director of the Intelligent Robotics Committee of the China Computer Federation.
During the conference, the Nantong Embodied Intelligence Industry Innovation Alliance was formed, and the Chongchuan and Rudong branches of the Advanced Ocean Institute of Southeast University Nantong were inaugurated. A series of industry, academia, and research projects related to embodied intelligence were also signed.
