Nantong massage therapist shares insights at Word Blind Union seminar

Meng Qiang, a massage therapist from Nantong, Jiangsu, with visual impairments, was invited to the 17th World Blind Union Asia Pacific Regional Massage Seminar held in Seoul, South Korea.
He delivered a keynote speech titled Experiences in Developing Blind Medical Massage in Rural Townships, sharing insights into China's rural blind massage industry with an international audience.
With over 30 years of clinical experience in massage therapy, Men also holds positions as a board member of the China Massage Association of Blind Practitioners, vice-president of the Jiangsu Association of Persons with Visual Disabilities, and vice-chairman of the Nantong Association of Persons with Visual Disabilities.
Throughout his career, he has offered professional services to patients and served as a role model for local people with disabilities by demonstrating perseverance. In 2020, he led the creation of a massage volunteer team that regularly carries out charity activities to help people with disabilities and share warmth through his professional skills.
As a leading and influential academic platform in the field of blind massage within the region, this seminar gathered industry experts, practitioners, and scholars from Asia-Pacific countries. It included detailed discussions on advancements in massage techniques, broader clinical applications, and the incorporation of rehabilitation services.
