Bencha town in Rudong county, located in Nantong city, East China's Jiangsu province, broke ground on a major future energy technology park and the fishery-photovoltaic complementary power generation project on Aug 29.

With an investment of 500 million yuan ($70 million), the future energy technology park will feature a 40,000-square-meter factory area and support facilities.

It will aim to attract manufacturing and service industries mainly focused on photovoltaic inverters, intelligent agricultural equipment, flywheel energy storage systems and more.

The target is that by the end of 2026, the number of companies based there will reach more than 15, with a combined annual output value topping 500 million yuan.

The fishery-photovoltaic complementary power generation project, costing over 400 million yuan, is expected to further improve the stability of the local energy supply and its utilization efficiency, helping to promote the green transformation of the region's energy infrastructure.

This year, the leaders of Bencha town have headed up investment promotion teams that have gone a number of times to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and other places. Currently, seven projects are being discussed, and four projects are under construction.
