An unveiling ceremony for the Rudong Branch of the Changzhou University National Technology Transfer Center and the Rudong New Materials Research Institute of Changzhou University was recently held.

The ceremony took place in Yangkou town in the coastal county of Rudong, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, on Aug 11.

It marked a historic step for Rudong to deepen its innovation-driven development strategy and accelerate its integration into the scientific and technological innovation system of the Yangtze River Delta region.

Yang Wanping, Rudong's Party secretary, said that Yangkou town is the main engine for the county's maritime industry development and it has maintained a close and friendly cooperative relationship with Changzhou University for many years.

Yang added that the cooperation this time would undoubtedly help Yangkou town break through technological bottlenecks, stimulate a new development momentum and create a more competitive and influential leading industrial cluster.

Chen Haiqun, principal of Changzhou University, said his university would strive to build the Rudong branch center and the Rudong new materials research institute into models of locality and university cooperation for cultivating new quality productive forces.
