From January to June this year, Qidong recorded an average PM2.5 concentration of 27 micrograms per cubic meter, ranking first in Jiangsu province. The city's percentage of days with good or excellent air quality reached 86.2 percent, also topping the provincial list.

Determined to create an eco-friendly environment that is livable and business-friendly, Qidong has been steadily improving its air pollution control capabilities this year.

Reducing emissions from mobile sources has been a key focus of the city's air pollution prevention efforts. Qidong has accelerated the phase-out of substandard construction machinery and diesel trucks, while carrying out comprehensive measures in key industries such as foundries, shipbuilding, steel structure manufacturing, and auto repair.

The city has also deployed laser radar and micro-monitoring stations to achieve full coverage of the urban air quality monitoring network. These tools enhance the precision of pollutant source tracing and enable minute-level monitoring and early warning for PM2.5, ozone, and other factors, ensuring timely and targeted responses.
