Wind farms and photovoltaic plants along Rudong's coastline operate at full capacity, producing over 40 million kilowatt-hours of clean electricity in a single day — enough to power about 4 million households. So far, Rudong's new energy capacity has exceeded 8 million kilowatts, with over 81 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity supplied to the grid.

Rudong, a coastal county abundant in marine resources, continues to focus on marine-driven development. It is establishing three key industries: new energy, new materials, and advanced equipment. By 2030, Rudong plans to develop seven marine industry clusters, three specialized industrial parks, 15 high-level R&D platforms, and 20 leading companies, aiming for the marine economy to surpass 80 billion yuan ($11.17 billion).

Over the past two decades, Rudong has drawn major energy companies such as China General Nuclear Power Group. To enhance its renewable energy supply chain, it has developed local businesses like Zhongtian Technology and also attracted industry leaders like Shanghai Electric and Envision Energy. Today, Rudong features a comprehensive and efficient new energy industrial system, covering everything from cable production and turbine assembly to offshore maintenance services.

In the Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone, significant marine equipment projects are in progress, such as a 3-billion-yuan green energy initiative and an 11-billion-yuan heavy chemical equipment project. The construction of the Jinniu Wharf is also underway, which will further enhance Rudong's marine development potential.
