The Bihai Yinsha Scenic Area in Yuantuojiao Resort, Qidong, Jiangsu, will host the stunning Yangtze River Delta (Qidong) International Fireworks Competition from Aug 2 to 3, featuring six world-class teams from Italy, Brazil, Russia, Australia, France, and Thailand.

Set against the breathtaking backdrop where the Yellow Sea, East China Sea, and Yangtze River meet, the event promises an unforgettable celebration of light and sound.

While China will not compete as a contestant, it will deliver show-stopping performances as the host. Shi Gangbing, event organizer, said that each day will open and close with two grand-scale fireworks displays, complemented by four fusion shows combining fireworks and drones.

With an investment of nearly 30 million yuan ($4.19 million), the event blends competitive fireworks, drone choreography, live performances, and electronic music parties into a magical summer spectacle. The sea-based fireworks will be launched from floating platforms and vessels, covering a firing area over 800 meters long.

"This is not just a fireworks show," emphasized Qiu Jian, chief planner and renowned fireworks designer. "We're talking about nearly 150,000 custom-designed shells, precision-launched using computer-controlled systems, and 5,000 drone flights delivering fireworks from the sky."

With a fireworks production budget exceeding 15 million yuan, the scale is among the largest globally. Organizers are also aiming to break a world record in fireworks-drone integration, making this event a world-class pyrotechnic landmark.
