Qidong hosts Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour 2025
The Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour 2025 (Qidong China Futures) is taking place in the Yuantuojiao Resort of Qidong, Jiangsu province, from June 19 to 22. As one of the top-tier events under the Federation Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB), the tournament is a key points-earning event for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
This year's tournament brings together 44 elite teams from 17 countries and regions, featuring some of the world's top beach volleyball talent. Powerhouse nations in the sport, such as Brazil and Australia, have sent their top athletes, including world and Asian champions, to compete on the shores of Qidong.
The venue features an 8-kilometer stretch of velvety white beach, created using 0.3 mm-grade quartz sand transported over 1,000 kilometers from Fujian province. The sand has undergone 12 rounds of water-washing to ensure a soft, barefoot-friendly texture, making it a perfect match for professional beach volleyball competitions.
Team China is also in the spotlight, with top female duo Yuan Lyuwen and Zhu Lingdi — fresh off their silver medal finish at the Qingdao stop — leading the women's team. On the men's side, a strong lineup is representing China in the quest for points and podiums.
With its world-class setup and high-level competition, the Qidong event has once again highlighted the resort's growing appeal as a premier international sports destination.
