Qidong Meixun Machinery is at the forefront of developing production lines for honeycomb paper core and paperboard.
Honeycomb paperboard is an innovative material made by bonding kraft paper to both sides of a honeycomb-shaped paper core. "Its hexagonal structure resists deformation, evenly distributes pressure, and provides excellent cushioning," said Ying Shufeng, chairman of Meixun Machinery. Compared to traditional corrugated cardboard—which uses wave-shaped internal layers and consumes more materials—honeycomb paperboard offers high load-bearing capacity, reduced material usage, and superior protection with less weight.
"It also offers better moisture resistance and adjustable thickness, which can improve warehouse space efficiency and lower transportation costs," Ying added.
Currently, about 40 production lines across China are using Meixun's equipment. The third-generation thin honeycomb paperboard production line has been deployed in 16 Chinese cities and has entered the European market. Major brands like Haier, Midea, and Fotile have already adopted honeycomb paperboard for packaging.
In 2024, Meixun Machinery's output value approached 100 million yuan ($13.7 million), and the company expects to double that figure to 200 million yuan this year, reflecting its rapid growth and continued leadership in sustainable packaging solutions.
