Tongzhou spearheads industry-innovation growth
Tongzhou district, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, is at the forefront of industry-innovation development.
Tongzhou has actively worked to improve its industrial ecosystems. Nantong Jianghai Capacitor Co, through an industrial alliance, has attracted 55 upstream and downstream enterprises to cluster in the region, driving the growth of the electronic component industry in Tongzhou.

To date, 25 industry-leader enterprises in Tongzhou are spearheading the development of eight key industrial chains. Last year, the value-added output from its industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 12.2 percent, ranking first in Nantong.
Tongzhou has also excelled in upgrading traditional industries and fostering emerging and future sectors. Through a decade of efforts, Nantong SK Seiko Bearing Co has achieved domestic production across the entire industrial chain, from raw materials and grinding to assembly, and has developed world-leading ultra-micro bearings.
In 2024, five enterprises in Tongzhou were recognized as "little giant" enterprises, one as a national 5G factory, and four as provincial potential unicorn enterprises.
Tongzhou is also leading in industry-innovation integration. Teaming up with Huawei, the district plans to construct the first 200 PFLOPS artificial intelligence (AI) computing power center in the Yangtze River Delta region, fueling the development of its "AI+manufacturing" industry.
To amass high-caliber talent for further integrating industry and innovation, Tongzhou has established 26 postdoctoral workstations to cultivate over 100 doctors within three years.
