The Nantong International Economic and Technical Cooperation Association established a workstation in Chita City, Russia, on Sept 12 to bolster trade and investment cooperation with Russia.

Chita serves as the capital of the Trans-Baikal Territory in the Russian Federation, situated east of Lake Baikal and sharing borders with China to the southeast and Mongolia to the south.

As one of China's pioneering open coastal cities, Nantong has nurtured strong economic and trade relations with Russia, resulting in fruitful collaborations.

For decades, over 50 entrepreneurs from the Chinese city have been actively engaged in the markets of Chita, Ulan-Ude, and Irkutsk in Russia, significantly contributing to the construction of local iconic landmarks.

In March 2023, to facilitate the development of Nantong enterprises in Russia, the association designated the Russia Project Department of Nantong Huichuan Overseas Employment Service as the offshore workstation for the city's go-global endeavors in Russia.

After more than a year of trial operations, the workstation has yielded significant results and played a vital role in facilitating compliant operations and fostering collaborative growth among Nantong enterprises.
