Six enterprises in Haimen district, Nantong, Jiangsu province, have had their production workshops recognized as provincial-level smart manufacturing workshops, spanning industries such as new energy, high-end equipment, next-generation information technology, life sciences, and high-end textiles.

This achievement brings the total number of provincial-level smart manufacturing workshops in Haimen to 19, with one national-level smart manufacturing workshop also present.

The effects of smart transformation and digitalization in the manufacturing industry are notably pronounced in Haimen . By the end of July, the district had completed comprehensive diagnostics for all industrial enterprises above designated size and issued 810 diagnostic reports.

Haimen is also advancing the application of smart technologies, the construction of smart workshops, and the development of smart factories in a phased and stratified manner. This year alone, five provincial-level smart factories have been added, leading the way in Nantong.

Webest, located in Haimen, is a company specializing in functional lining fabrics. It is among the first in the industry nationwide to implement intelligent upgrades and transformations.

"The intelligent upgrades have enabled traditional enterprises like ours to achieve highly efficient and high-quality development, significantly enhancing our core competitiveness," said the head of Webest in Nantong.

Through the implementation of intelligent logistics warehouses, companies are currently transitioning from manual to smart warehousing operations, reducing manual inventory counts, providing real-time updates on inventory levels, achieving 100 percent accuracy in shipments, and optimizing warehouse space utilization through vertical storage solutions.
