On Aug 20, the first of three LNG bunker vessels, the Seaspan Garibaldi, built by Nantong Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering for Canada's Seaspan Energy, was delivered and set sail from Qidong, Nantong to the Pacific Northwest. This marks China's first entry into the North American market with small and medium-sized LNG carriers.

The Seaspan Garibaldi is a 7,600-cubic-meter LNG bunker vessel with a length of 112.8 meters, a width of 18.6 meters, and a designed speed of 13 knots. The vessel incorporates the latest maritime technologies to minimize operational pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. It is equipped with advanced propulsion systems for excellent maneuverability, making it suitable for various LNG loading and bunkering operations.

The Nantong maritime safety administration provided comprehensive safety oversight and support throughout the vessel's construction, launch, sea trials, and final delivery.

The remaining two ships are scheduled for delivery by the end of 2024.
