Qidong Maritime Engineering and Shipbuilding Industrial Park drives economic growth
The Qidong Maritime Engineering and Shipbuilding Industrial Park has accelerated its development as a key industrial landmark. From January to May, Qidong achieved a total industrial output value of 12.7 billion yuan ($1.75 billion), with the marine engineering sector contributing more than one-fifth of the city's economy share.
According to Song Shuihua, deputy director of the park's administrative committee, orders for specialized vessels have exceeded 15 billion yuan, with plans to deliver 28 high-tech vessels by the end of the year.
Zhenhua Heavy Industries, a representative enterprise in the specialized vessel sector, has developed a wind turbine installation platform that integrates transportation, self-navigation, lifting, installation, and dynamic positioning capabilities. This platform, set to be operational soon, enhances solutions for offshore wind power equipment and foundation construction.
Meanwhile, China COSCO Shipping's N1063 wind turbine installation vessel is undergoing installation and system debugging. Expected to be completed and delivered in the third quarter of this year, it is touted as the world's most advanced and environmentally friendly offshore wind turbine installation vessel.
Song emphasized the park's strong focus on developing the offshore wind power industry, projecting total wind power equipment imports and exports to exceed $300 million this year. Currently, enterprises in the park hold orders exceeding 50 billion yuan.
