In a bid to enhance energy infrastructure and economic development, the Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone, in collaboration with various Rudong county government departments, including those related to commerce, maritime affairs, and customs, convened a meeting on June 3 to accelerate the opening of the liquefied natural gas terminal of Guoxin Group.

At the meeting, Chen Yan, general manager of Jiangsu Guoxin Liquefied Natural Gas Co Ltd, provided an overview of the project, detailing the construction plans. The terminal, with a total investment of 7.72 billion yuan ($1.07 billion), is divided into two phases. Phase one focuses on the construction of three 200,000 cubic meter LNG storage tanks and supporting facilities, with completion expected by the end of 2024. Phase two aims to build an additional 200,000 cubic meter LNG storage tank and a dock, targeted for completion by the end of 2025.

Qin Xinjian, an official from the Rudong commerce bureau, emphasized the need for relevant departments to form dedicated service teams to expedite the terminal's construction process, so that it can aid the winter supply of LNG at the beginning of 2026. He also encouraged Guoxin to enhance the digital and intelligent capabilities of the terminal.
