The eastern hospital of the Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University is scheduled to start pilot operations on May 30 in an effort to become a national regional medical center, local media outlets reported.

The new hospital will offer free clinical treatment for the first three days of pilot operations.

The hospital is conveniently located next to the new airport in Nantong, the Nantong Railway Station, and expressway exits and entries.

The new hospital is being built in two phases. The first phase, which will soon open, includes outpatient services, emergency treatment, medical laboratories, and an inpatient building accommodating 2,500 beds.

During the pilot operation period, 24 specialized departments, including respiratory and critical care medicine – the national clinical key specialty, will gradually open in the hospital.

Using its advanced medical facilities, the new hospital will create a new medical rescue model featuring a weight loss center, blood transplant center, foot and ankle surgical department, and pain treatment department.

Following the principles of eco-friendliness, humanistic care, and fitness, the new hospital features a variety of plants and flowers, making it more appealing and comfortable for patients.
