Egrets find sanctuary amidst lush cypress groves of village in Hai'an
The tranquil waters of Chouhu village, which is home to a lush grove of pond cypress trees, has recently become a haven for egrets.
In recent years, the pristine ecological environment of Dun'tou town, Hai'an, Jiangsu province, where Chouhu village located, has attracted a multitude of egrets to nest, breed, and live, with the majority being of the majestic white egret variety.
The white egret is a nationally protected species, with strict habitat requirements that include strong water quality, clean air, and abundant food. Revered as an "indicator bird" of ecological health, the presence of white egret's signifies a thriving ecosystem.
