The hydraulic project features both natural and cultural landscape, with over 90 percent being covered by greenery, as well as halls for exhibition and popular science displays about hydrology.

Another newly recognized water conservancy scenic area, Qinglong Port, houses forests, tidal flats, wetlands, and waters, a result of the local authorities' efforts to restore the natural environment surrounding the port in 2019. Nestled beside the Yangtze River, the scenic area consists of Zhang Jian Park, the Qinglong Port 1806 scenic area, as well as the embankments along the river.
