One such species is the yellow-billed egret, which is not only a nationally protected species but also recognized globally by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), which classifies it as a vulnerable (VU) species.

Another noteworthy inhabitant is the black-billed gull, identified as a nationally grade-one protected bird. This species, categorized as vulnerable (VU) on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, faces a limited population distribution, with only a few breeding grounds along the eastern coast of China.

In 2024, Qidong will continue in its commitment to advancing biodiversity conservation and restoration, hoping for an even greater diversity of species to emerge.
