An exhibition was held at the Yizhuang Intangible Cultural Heritage Space in Nantong, Jiangsu province, on Jan 25, marking the culmination of the Su embroidery talent training project in the city.

Fifty sets or pieces of embroidery works involving textiles, Chinese-style ready-to-wear collection, and art installations, were on display.

Funded by the Jiangsu Art Foundation, the project is the first provincial initiative designed to foster embroiderers in Nantong, blazing a new trail in preserving and developing embroidery culture. Undertaken by the city's Jiangsu College of Engineering and Technology, it aims to cultivate the innovation capability of local embroiderers.

Over the past 45 days, 30 trainees, including university teachers, designers, and craftsmen, completed their learning tasks. They also visited embroidery museums, markets, and cultural blocks in Jiangsu to explore how to blend the traditional craft into daily life.

The successful conclusion of the project is of great importance to the restructuring of the embroidery industry and the improvement of the industry's competitiveness and cultural added value.
