The Huaxia Film Museum in Rugao, a county-level city in Nantong, has dedicated itself to preserving and inheriting outstanding traditional Chinese culture.

Currently housing more than 200,000 artifacts, the museum's collection includes film projectors, film development and printing equipment, film scripts, film posters, and classic films.

Statistics show that from 1905 to 1949, China produced thousands of films, only 20 percent of which have been preserved, while no more than 10 silent films have survived. The restoration of these films is a work of great significance and urgency.

Four years ago, the cultural facility started digitalizing or repairing the 30,000 films, 40,000 audio tapes, as well as other materials, utilizing digital methods to establish a category-based database.

Public welfare is also a key focus of the facility, taking advantage of its collection to establish a cultural inheritance-themed teaching station with five full-time lecturers and 10 part-time workers. The teaching station also invites experts to give lectures and regularly organizes investigations to improve the skills of both full-time and part-time workers.
