The construction of the first phase of Jinniu dock at Yangukou Port has been progressing smoothly since it commenced at the end of October last year.

Situated in the nearshore shallow waters and adjacent to the industrial zone, the Jinniu dock is a significant infrastructure project for Yangukou Port. It is planned to have 13 berths accommodating cargo vessels of up to 50,000 metric tons. Once completed, the dock will serve the transportation needs of various industries near the port.

With a total investment of 2.3 billion yuan ($321.48 million), the first phase includes the construction of two 50,000-ton general berths and one 50,000-ton multipurpose berth. The designed annual throughput capacity is 4.08 million tons. The project also involves the construction of storage yards, roads, and auxiliary facilities.

The construction of the first phase is scheduled to be completed by May of next year.

Project director Sui Chaoyue explained that, in order to minimize the impact of complex weather conditions on the project, the construction team has maintained close communication with maritime, meteorological, and other relevant departments. This ensures a rational construction schedule, efficient deployment of personnel, and proper allocation of equipment.
