Ruyi village in Lyusigang town, Qidong, stands as a vibrant hub for China's power tool industry, hosting over 100 power tool enterprises with an impressive annual output value exceeding 3 billion yuan ($418.76 million).

Zhang Xuanbo, Party secretary of the village, proudly stated that one can find all parts required to assemble any kind of common power tools in Ruyi. Enterprises in the village engage in various categories such as metal cutting, grinding, assembly, construction, road-building, and forestry.

Due to the diverse divisions and rapid technological advancements in the power tool industry, it is challenging for any single company to carry out the entire production process. Instead, a comprehensive industrial cluster can be the key to business success.

Cui Xiaojun, general manager at Jiangsu Flint M&T, a power tool manufacturer based at Ruyi village, said the cluster of power tool suppliers in the village provides great convenience when sourcing equipment parts. The substantial savings in transportation time and costs also enhance the competitiveness of products in the market.

Nantong Zhonglyu Gear, the largest gear and shaft producer in Lyusigang town, sees 80 percent of its customers based locally. It also supplies products to international brands such as Bosch and Makita. The output value of the company in 2023 reached over 90 million yuan.

Nantong Shengdi Electromechanical Co Ltd, which relocated to Ruyi village in 2012, said what attracts the company most about the village is its comprehensive power tool industrial chain and the collaborative research and development between enterprises.
