A bustling scene unfolds in the Lyusi Port Economic Development Zone in Qidong, Nantong, as construction of two 10-billion-yuan projects are in progress.

One of these projects is the second phase of the site of Jiangsu Weihua Marine Heavy Machinery Co Ltd, the first marine equipment production base funded by Henan Weihua Heavy Machinery. With an annual capacity of more than 600 sets of equipment, the project is poised to achieve an annual output value of 20 billion yuan ($2.79 billion).

The other project is a food industrial park for Yihai Kerry, the world's third largest edible oil producer. The park will feature oil processing facilities and complementary projects such as docks. Once completed, the industrial park is set to become the largest comprehensive grain and oil processing base in East China.

This year, Lyusi Port Economic Development Zone will continue to focus on the development of equipment manufacturing and port logistics industries, with the aim of achieving fixed asset investment, manufacturing output, and port trade value each surpassing 100 billion yuan by 2030.
